About Marci Warren and This Practice

Marci Warren is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Council-Approved Supervisor (LPC-S) in Texas with more than 20 years of clinical experience. She holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) and specializes in trauma-informed psychotherapy for adolescent girls and adult women. Her clinical training includes EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic awareness, nervous system rehabilitation, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and DBT-informed skills. She is the founder of Whole Wellness Counseling, PLLC in Georgetown, Texas, and the creator of the Whole Heart Method™.

Marci works with adolescent girls and adult women throughout Texas. Her clients often include high-achieving women, caregivers, and helping professionals who appear composed and capable from the outside but privately feel anxious, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, or uncertain of their own perceptions. Many have a history of relational trauma, emotionally harmful family systems, or patterns of self-abandonment — people-pleasing, perfectionism, hypervigilance, and chronic over-responsibility. Whole Wellness Counseling is a women-only practice.

Clinical Approach and Therapeutic Methods

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories that have become stuck — memories that continue to generate fear, shame, or overwhelm long after the original event. Through bilateral stimulation and careful preparation, EMDR supports the nervous system in completing what it could not finish at the time of the experience. It is particularly effective for trauma, PTSD, grief, relational wounds, and chronic shame. Marci Warren is trained in EMDR and integrates it with somatic and parts-based approaches for a more individualized experience.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a compassionate, evidence-based model that understands the mind as made up of different parts — each with its own history, protective purpose, and longing to be understood. Rather than treating difficult emotions or behaviors as problems to eliminate, IFS approaches them with curiosity. Working with parts allows clients to access the calm, grounded Self that exists beneath the noise of inner conflict. IFS-informed therapy is particularly helpful for self-criticism, people-pleasing, emotional dysregulation, and complex trauma.

Somatic therapy brings gentle, curious attention to physical sensation, posture, breath, and movement as doorways into the deeper layers of experience that words alone cannot reach. The body holds a record of everything we have lived through — including trauma, relational wounds, and chronic stress. Rather than bypassing the body to get to the 'real' work, somatic awareness treats the body as an intelligent, trustworthy guide. This approach is particularly helpful for dissociation, nervous system dysregulation, difficulty identifying emotions, and trauma held in the body.

Nervous system rehabilitation is a neuroscience-informed approach to healing that addresses how chronic trauma, relational stress, and unresolved pain physically reshape the nervous system over time. When the nervous system has been organized around threat — through hypervigilance, chronic activation, or shutdown — it can become stuck in those protective patterns long after the original danger has passed. Nervous system rehabilitation uses somatic awareness, breathwork, titrated exposure, and body-based regulation practices to help the nervous system learn, at a cellular level, that safety is possible. This is not simply about calming down or managing symptoms; it is about rehabilitating the nervous system's capacity for presence, connection, and rest. At Whole Wellness Counseling, nervous system rehabilitation is woven throughout the clinical work — particularly for clients navigating chronic stress, pain management challenges, trauma, and patterns of hypervigilance or dissociation.

Rehabilitation psychology addresses the psychological dimensions of physical injury, illness, and recovery — including the ways that pain, loss of function, and the disruption of identity can affect mental health, motivation, and the healing process itself. Sports injury rehabilitation psychology specifically addresses what happens psychologically when an athlete or physically active person is injured: the grief of lost capacity, the fear of re-injury, the identity disruption of being sidelined, and the nervous system's learned responses to pain and threat that can persist even after physical healing is complete. The nervous system does not automatically reset when the body heals. Patterns of guarding, hypervigilance around movement, pain catastrophizing, and fear-avoidance can become embedded — and these psychological and neurological dimensions of recovery are as important as the physical rehabilitation itself. Marci Warren integrates rehabilitation psychology principles with somatic awareness and nervous system rehabilitation to support women navigating chronic pain, sports injury recovery, and the psychological aftermath of physical injury.

The Whole Heart Method™ is Marci Warren's integrative clinical framework that helps women return to themselves. It combines trauma-informed psychotherapy with mindfulness, somatic awareness, breathwork, IFS-informed parts work, nervous system rehabilitation, and carefully selected Kundalini practices to cultivate a resourced sense of wholeness across body, mind, heart, and soul. The goal is not simply to manage symptoms, but to develop the inner safety and self-trust needed to live from presence rather than survival. Presence Is Enough™, the women's group therapy program, is the first pillar of the Whole Heart Method.

The length of therapy depends on your goals, history, and what your nervous system needs. Some clients work toward a specific goal over several months. Others engage in longer-term relational and trauma work that unfolds over one to two years or more. Marci does not use a fixed protocol or predetermined number of sessions. Treatment planning is individualized and revisited regularly. You are always welcome to discuss the pace and direction of the work.

Private-Pay Fees and the Sliding Scale

Whole Wellness Counseling uses a self-selected sliding-scale fee structure with three tiers: the Standard Fee ($225 per session), the Supported Fee ($175 per session), and the Community Access Fee ($125 per session). Clients are asked to select the highest fee they can sustain without compromising essential needs. No documentation of income or hardship is required. A limited number of Supported and Community Access spaces are available.

Whole Wellness Counseling is a private-pay practice and does not submit claims to insurance companies. This is a deliberate clinical and ethical choice. Insurance billing requires a psychiatric diagnosis that becomes part of your permanent health record, limits the number and type of sessions covered, and gives the insurer a role in determining the direction of your care. Private pay protects your privacy, preserves the integrity of your diagnosis, and allows treatment to be guided entirely by your clinical needs rather than insurance criteria.

You may request a superbill — a detailed receipt that includes your diagnosis, dates of service, procedure codes, and the amount you paid — to submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement is determined by your insurer and is not guaranteed. Submitting a superbill involves sharing clinical information with your health plan. Marci can provide superbills upon request.

Under the No Surprises Act, clients who are uninsured or who choose not to use insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate before beginning treatment. This written estimate describes your agreed session fee and the anticipated cost of care based on the expected frequency of sessions. Whole Wellness Counseling provides Good Faith Estimates to all new clients before the first session. Your estimate may be updated if your fee, session frequency, or treatment plan changes.

Presence Is Enough™ Women's Group Therapy

Presence Is Enough™ is a women-only experiential therapy group and the first pillar of the Whole Heart Method™. It is a small therapeutic group for women who are ready to explore the patterns that have taught them to disconnect from themselves — in order to caretake, achieve, belong, avoid conflict, or remain safe. The group uses somatic awareness, nervous system regulation, mindfulness, IFS-informed parts work, and authentic connection to help women practice a different way of relating to themselves. The group meets in Georgetown, TX and is available via telehealth for women across Texas.

Presence Is Enough™ is open to adult women who are ready to explore patterns of self-abandonment, disconnection, and over-responsibility in a supported group setting. The group is women-only. It is a private-pay group. It is designed as a container for life transitions including career changes, significant loss, leaving a relationship, or building a more authentic life. Prospective members are encouraged to reach out for a brief consultation to discuss whether the group is a good fit.

Individual therapy at Whole Wellness Counseling is a one-on-one relationship between you and Marci, tailored entirely to your history, goals, and nervous system. Group therapy offers something different: the experience of healing in community with other women. Individual capacity grows in relationship with other nervous systems. Group therapy can be particularly powerful for patterns rooted in relational wounds — because the relational healing happens in real time, with real people. Some clients participate in both individual and group therapy simultaneously.

LPC Supervision for Texas Associates

In Texas, Licensed Professional Counselor Associates (LPC Associates) must practice under the supervision of a Board-approved LPC Supervisor until they have completed 3,000 hours of supervised experience (including at least 1,500 hours of direct client contact) over a minimum of 18 months. Marci Warren is a Council-Approved Supervisor (LPC-S) credentialed by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC). She provides clinical supervision for Texas LPC Associates seeking thoughtful, trauma-informed, integrative professional development.

Marci's supervision is relational, reflective, and trauma-informed. Her goal is not to create therapists who practice exactly as she does, but to help Associates develop their own clinical voice — grounded in sound judgment, ethical practice, and genuine self-awareness. Supervision may include case conceptualization, trauma-informed care, ethical decision-making, therapist identity development, countertransference, cultural humility, and nervous-system awareness. She draws from more than 20 years of clinical experience integrating EMDR, IFS, somatic approaches, ACT, and DBT-informed practice.

Texas LPC Associates must complete 3,000 hours of supervised professional counseling experience, including at least 1,500 hours of direct client counseling, over a minimum supervised-experience period of 18 months. Associates must receive at least four hours of supervision per month while actively providing counseling services. No more than 50% of total required supervision hours may be completed through group supervision. A current Supervisory Agreement must be on file with the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council. Requirements are subject to change; Associates are responsible for reviewing current BHEC rules.

How to Start Therapy

The first step is to request a free 15-minute consultation. You can schedule directly using the online calendar on the contact page, or send a brief message through the inquiry form. The consultation is an opportunity to discuss what you are looking for in therapy, whether Marci's clinical approach appears to be a good fit, current availability, your preferred fee tier, and the next steps for beginning care. You are not required to share your full history or explain your situation in detail before speaking.

The early sessions are focused on building safety, understanding your history and goals, and beginning to develop a shared sense of what the work might look like. Marci does not rush toward processing or intervention before a solid therapeutic foundation is in place. You will not be asked to do anything you are not ready for. The pace of the work is collaborative and responsive to what your nervous system needs.
